After the birth of her child, a young woman confined to a home for unwed mothers must fight for her survival as the home falls siege to a group of mysterious invaders.
Set in the Spanish Pyrenees in 1910, our story follows Isabel, a well-to-do young woman in her twenties recovering from a C-section and subsequent death of her child, and her unlikely friendship with Ana, a fifteen-year-old lower class prostitute. Though they’re from opposite walks of life, the two young women form a bond while living under the harsh conditions of a Catholic women’s home. Matters are further complicated after a pair of grisly deaths suggest that the home might not be as isolated as they thought. At its core, THE HOME is an exploration of the idea that we create our own monsters. The story examines our humanity; specifically, how our lack of compassion brings out the monster in us. What’s truly evil, what’s truly monstrous comes from within, not from some external boogeyman or the devil.
